Ruth Hollis

A former Middle School Science teacher, Ruth is currently Director of the Pittsford Teacher Center. She coordinates professional development for staff and manages Mentor and Paraprofessional Advisor programs for the Pittsford Central School District. She also serves as an instructional coach and mentor and has co-chaired the district’s Instructional Leadership Council and the regional Teacher Center Network. Ruth is a member of the New York State Teacher Center Evaluation and Strategies Committee and Leadership Academy.
In her thirty-seven year career as a Pittsford educator, Ruth has trained others on topics such as the Elements of Instruction, Motivation, Cooperative Learning, Classroom and Curriculum Management, Study Skills, Learning Styles, Clinical Supervision, Coaching and Mentoring, Facilitation, Team Building, Leadership, and Presentation Skills. In 1996 she traveled to the International School of Belgrade to assist with curriculum design. Ruth is licensed to facilitate Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective People and First Things First, is a regional trainer for Study Skills across the Curriculum, and is a trainer for the Center for Teacher Effectiveness.
Ruth holds a Bachelor degree in General Science from the University of Rochester and a Graduate degree in Education Administration along with Certificates of Advanced Studies and Small Group Leadership from SUNY Brockport.
